Why Smart Stitch Machines Don’t Meet TEWH’s Buying Requirements

At TheEmbroideryWarehouse (TEWH), we specialize in buying, restoring, and reselling high-quality embroidery machines. Because of our strict standards, we choose not to purchase, support, or resell Smart Stitch machines.

To be clear: TEWH is not owned, partnered, or contractually tied to any brand we sell—or don’t sell. There are no legal or financial restrictions preventing us from buying Smart Stitch machines. We simply choose not to, based on quality and long-term usability concerns.

Why Smart Stitch Doesn’t Make the Cut (TEWH’s Business Opinions)

  1. Not Designed for Heavy Commercial Longevity

In our opinion, Smart Stitch machines fall into a budget-focused category and lack the industrial robustness our customers expect from refurbished commercial units. For TEWH, the machine must justify the time and cost involved in rebuilding—and Smart Stitch models generally do not meet that threshold.

  2. Parts Support & Availability Are Insufficient for Our Needs

We only purchase brands with long-term, easily accessible parts support. Based on our experience sourcing parts across the industry, Smart Stitch does not provide the level of consistency TEWH requires for supporting rebuilt units.

  3. Not Cost-Effective to Rebuild

Our technicians invest significant labor into restoring machines. If a machine is built in a way that doesn’t justify that investment, we will not purchase it—and Smart Stitch falls into that category for us.

The TEWH Standard Comes First

We always prioritize machines with proven stability and strong aftermarket support. For these reasons, Smart Stitch does not align with TEWH’s quality expectations.
